Postings reflect an familiarity with some aspects of the topic but lack in depth and completeness. The postings suggest a casual skimming of the text.

Postings reflect a good understanding of the topic suggesting a careful reading of the assigned chapters in the text. Some reference to the text or other materials were included to support ideas expressed.
Expansion of ideas

Postings expand the ideas under discussion by adding alternative interpretations of the text, relating personal experiences, and/or asking questions to encourage deeper thinking.

Postings are vague statements related to the topic, or move the discussion to a different topic altogether.
Fair

Postings repeat information provided by other participants without adding new ideas, alternative interpretations nor personal perspective.
Good

Postings expand existing ideas in the dialogue but do not offer new perspectives or raise questions to stimulate thinking.
Excellent

Postings contributes a new idea, relate a personal experience, offer alternative interpretations, and/or ask a relevant question that moves the discussion forward.
Participation in Dialogue
